I did not pass court today....

CWA called at 9:30AM today to let me know that they were missing the zonal approval document from MOWA in Ethiopia. The courts require this to be in the adoption paper work, according to what I have read and some information from CWA, the people who work for MOWA and I think it is only one or two people were on vacation and this week in training and thus are very backed up in getting this critical document to the adoptive families. I am one of many families in the last 2 weeks who have not passed. Last Friday I posted the letter from CWA below, that I would most likely not pass, however I still had my heart in this that I may.

They have set another court date for July 2, yes 3 weeks away, I hope this give MOWA lots of time to get caught up on the paper-work.

Please continue to pray, it has been a very sad day here...

Yukon gone missing....

Once again my beautiful Husky had me running around the neighborhood early this morning..
Last night I said goodnight to him as I always do, looking to see if he was in his create, and he was there sound asleep.
This morning when I got up I normally see him somewhere, I could not find him, even Edison came downstairs and I could tell Yukon was not to be found.
I step outside and look around the yard, still no Yukon.. I go to the other side of the yard and see the open gate.... OH MY.. I had window washers here yesterday and they must have left the gate open...oh my, open gate no Yukon.. now in his early years, Yukon has run away at least 50 times... When we moved to IL I had a microchip put in him.... He is old, 12.5 years, who would think he would run away...
I had just given Jack a bottle, so I grabbed him put him in his car seat with the bottle and we were off.. Oh did I mention it was 7:00 AM, and I am still in my PJ's...

After an hour with no luck I came back to the house made flyer's and started to post them in the neighborhood. by 11:30, I had posted 50+ fliers and Jack was getting fussy so I headed home.
At home I opened my computer and googles lost dogs, this web site came up. http://www.findtoto.com/

It sends out a lost dog message to your 1500 neighbors...LOL yes, I did it and within minutes had people calling me to see if they could help me find my dog..LOL

20 min after sending the phone message, I get a call from the Humain Society, a wonderful couple found Yukon 4 miles south off of the my road 45. They were able to scan him and found the microchip and it gave my phone number... Praise God for the microchip.
20 min later he was in my car and I was out taking down the 50+ signes posted around the neighborhood. By time I was home it was 1 PM....
Oh what a crazy day.... I am thankful he is home....

It does not lood good for my court date next week..

Ahhhhhh... CWA my agency just put out this email... I am one of the many that have court next week and it does not look like all the paper work will be ready... Please Pray that somehow this paperwork can get done by next Friday...

Nancy...

BREAKING NEWS: Developments today in Ethiopia regarding the continued challenge of getting birth certificates has necessitated that we make the following changes in the Ethiopia planner.

Step 7: Bringing Your Child Home
At this point adoptive parents have:
• Had a successful court date
• Have received notice from their case manager that their CIS approval has been received at the US Embassy in Addis
• Reviewed the birth certificate(s)

Embassy Appointment
• Change effective 6-5-09: Embassy appointments will be scheduled after an accurate birth certificate has been issued. Due to the frequent power outages in Addis, this portion of the paperwork has become a sticking point for scheduling with the Embassy. Parents will travel two to four weeks after the birth certificate(s) are received. This would mean that parents will not likely travel to Addis for eight to ten weeks after a successful court date.
• The US Embassy has assigned every other Tuesday at 3 PM for CWA appointments. We are allowed up to ten (10) children’s' visas to be issued at that time.
• Understand that CWAE staff must submit documentation for your appointment to the Embassy 10 days prior to your Embassy appointment and your completed I-600 and I-864 on Monday, the day before.

We realize that families are anxious to travel as soon as possible after court to bring their children home. However, several families in the past month have had to postpone their travel due to birth certificates not being ready in time. This is the best solution we have at this time.
++++++++++++++++

Quite a number of court cases are currently being postponed because the Ministry of Women's Affairs is behind in getting recommendations ready for the court. This is an ongoing problem due to staffing issues, but is becoming more pronounced at this time of year when there is a rush to get cases through before court recess, and power outages in Addis hinder everyone's work.

ADDITIONALLY, we learned today that the Ministry of Women's Affairs has another training planned for next week. We have no idea how that will affect our large number of court cases scheduled for next week, but we fear it does not bode well. We will attempt to contact the affected families early next week if we have any advance news.

++++++++++++++++++++

On a brighter note, we understand that the investigation into the abandoned children situation in Addis has cleared at least 3 orphanages and abandoned cases are beginning to be heard again. So far, no CWA cases have been affected by this situation anyway.

Have a blessed weekend!

8 days until court...

June 12 is coming next week..... Wow I just can't believe how fast it is coming..
I confirmed with my agency that if I pass I will most likely travel July 25 for a July 28 embassy date. Slight chance to travel July 10 for a July 14 embassy date.

Keep us in your prayers....
