2 month check up

Jack Frankie is now 9 lbs 6 oz and 21 inches long..
He is doing great....

Friday was his checkup and by Friday afternoon my Husky Yukon was in the ER... He ate multiple baby booties, diapers and bibs... For the first 8 hours we were not sure he was going to make it, but 28 hours later and some great doctors we were able to get things to pass in his poop, with lots of IV solution some meds and chicken and rice... Praise God!!

Have a Wonderful Sunday..

Things I have learned the last two months...

How amazing God is in answering prayers.
How God had his hands in this adoption.
The first few weeks I felt like I was baby sitting someone else baby.
The feeling of wow... he really is my baby... over and over again...
The first night of no sleep and Jack cried all night long and how my heart ached to help him.
How I learned that night how patient and calm I could be.
How I under estimated the amount of work it is to be a new mom.
How fast my day goes by and I am not working...
How I am not looking forward to going back to work.
How many diapers one baby can go through in a day.
How to become my babies advocate... switching formals until we finally found one that works.
That no matter what anyone says I can not sleep when the baby sleeps, this is the only time to either, shower, clean one area of the house, do dishes, make formula, go potty but never more then two of them before he wakes up.
How little sleep I need to function.
How at night I just look at his face and feel so bless that his birth mom choose me.
How bless I was to meet his birth mom and his birth Aunts and when he smiles how he looks like them.
How much I think of his birth mom and I hope she is okay.
How awesome the feeling is when he stops crying when I pick him up.
How Jack is ticklish.
How unconditional love I have for my baby.
How my heart melts when my baby smiles.
How I can't wait to bring my baby girl home from Ethiopia.. Many have asked if I will still continue my other adoptions and 100% YES I will....

To be continued....

Still in Florida

Hi, I just thought I should give an update...
We are still in Florida, the weather has been okay, around 65 to 70 and sunny only one rainy day. Much better then the 25 and snow in IL..

Baby Jack is doing great, we have walked to the beach every other day, he is too small to go in the sun so we sit in the shade and had his bottle and then go back to my parents house.
Every day he is getting bigger and bigger, during tummy time he rolled over 3 separate times. He holds his head up strong and is really smiling now.

Once down here we had a few bad days again with the poop and gas, so I once again switched formula. I am now using Similac it seems to be working he has been on it for 7 days and does not seem to have any more issues. I am still giving it another week before I really think it is the answer.

My Mom (Grandma) has been great, she either picks up the 11 pm feedings or the 4 am depending on who goes to bed first. I will sure miss the extra sleep when I head home on Wednesday.
My Dad (Grandpa) just loves to hold baby Jack, he is the designated baby sitter when Mom and I have gone out shopping. No, I did not shop on Black Friday, it was the first time in maybe 10 years I did not go out. I think this is the first year I don't have all my shopping done and wrapped, next week when I get back to IL I hope to get it done.
Ahhh only 4 more weeks and I have to return to work, this will be so hard, I love spending every day with Jack, I am trying to prepare myself now...

Well I must get back to my baby Grandma and Grandpa are watching him while I am up here on at Panera on Grandma's computer..

Miss you all and see you soon.. I get back to IL on Wed.
Oh for those of you who have emailed me I will email back next week. But at this time I do plan on going to my Chapel bible study next Tuesday and the Adoption support group on the 17th if Jack is up to it..

HUGS...

1 month old doctors visit

Today was baby Jacks 1 month old visit....

He is now 7 lbs 2 oz and 20 inches long... wow was I shocked my baby is growing like crazy.. :- )

The doctor says not to worry about the pooping issue, since I have tried 4 formulas and had no change that I need to accept this is how is bowels work.. So every 4th night I will get no sleep ( this was last night I have been up since 2 am).

He got his second Hep B shot..

Next doctors visit is next month Dec 12.

I am going to Florida next week to spend 2 weeks with my mom and dad, I can't wait to get to the warm weather, I will try to post but there is no Internet at my parents house so it may only be once or twice...

One Month Old today.....

My baby is one month old today... He was born at 6:42 EST in 9 min he is one month old...
He eats great, sleeps most of the time, I think his days and nights are mixed up right now. He follows me with his eyes and makes eye contact. We are now at 1 poop per day for two days in a row and he just started his 4th type of formula yesterday. We are now on Soy, his tummy seems to like this better.

It is still hard for me to believe that 12 weeks ago today I was called by the birth mom's sister and here I am home with my baby for 1 month.. God is amazing I thank him daily for my beautiful son...

I have taken many pictures today... Enjoy...
